YUM SKIN CARE

Philosophy
Yüm Skincare is based on the alchemical view that the health of the body relies on the interactive harmony of man, the microcosm, Nature and the macrocosm. We believe the earth is able to provide all the necessary tools to prevent health problems but also to repair them. Our philosophy follows this simple principle in that we respect and honor the earths bounty while drawing upon it's resources to provide all necessary components for ideal health both internally and externally.

Give PEACE a try to reach 2012 goals!

This authorless proverb reminded me of how each year we keep kicking off January 1st with good intensions of not dragging baggage from previous years into the new one, but historically we have experienced that unrealistic expectations placed upon ourselves may only lead us to feelings of disappointment and regret. Some people may give up completely on even making such resolutions saying: “why bother ...it will only last a few weeks or months anyways”.

Having lived these situations first hand helped me learn new goal building strategies, and not to narrow it down to one solitary day, but spread my goals/resolutions throughout the year.

Where does “Peace come into all of this? The expression states “Be calm in your heart”. I believe this phrase is the true essence to inner peace, and the precursor to goal planning.  When we learn to be kinder to ourselves by not place extreme expectations we soon realize how it feels to be at peace in nature (life), and in turn be able to nurture (obtain goals).

Here are some easy ways to set goals and obtain most of them. Create a list of goals and then place them into categories of:

1. Long term goals (Like 6 months to a year.)

2. Medium term goals (Usually completed in 4-6 months.)

3. Then short term goals (1 day to 4 months.)

By placing your goals in this summarized format you can now take away unneeded stress and in turn “becalm to your heart”, and being true to your goals.

Best of luck with your 2012 goals!

The Perfect Shave

THE PERFECT E-SHAVE

Shave after the shower or use a hot steamy towel. Heat will loosen up pores and softens the hair for a closer shave.

Lightly rub  pre-shave oil onto the skin to protect the skin and allow the razor to glide easily.

Lather up the face using one of your favorite One In Zen shave creams.  Then moving the lathered hands or brush against the grain will help to raise the hair away from face for shaving.

Using  your razor shave with the grain. No need to apply pressure, but make sure to change your blade as needed. A sharp blade slides easily when working with a well prepared face and product.

Rinse face and rub a moistened  Alum Block along the skin to close the pores and tone the skin.

Pat skin dry then apply after shave moisturizer or moisturizer to sooth and rejuvenate the skin.
